Hi Elena and Wim!
Yes, it’s been a big success. We really love it. I actually much prefer it to the hot tub, it’s so nice to listen to the logs crackling It’s all wood fired and takes about 20 minutes to heat – and can get VERY hot. You only need about 3 logs for a good sauna and it’s easy to get going.

I will put some more photos up and do a new article soon I think, as we have made some additions to it. We’ve got a cold shower outside for summer, a wood rail around the stove so you don’t burn yourself and the roof is now tiled as it did leak a bit in the rain (as the manufacturer said it would – not severely but it would drip a bit). The tiles are really lovely – pic here

we are on the moment considering buying a similar barrel sauna like you bought
Are you happy with this?
I thing you heat it with a woodstove otherwise how much KW is the electric stove you use?

Hi there guys! I really enjoyed your article.I have spent a few seasons in Val D’isere and Chamonix. I am 19 and I must say I am absolutely intoxicated by the region, Chamonix especially! After reading this article, I think I’d feel quite confident as a vegan there, so my question is: Do you think it would be possible for me to find work and accomodation there? Or is it quite an expensive place to live for young adults/students? I am happy to do any (vegan) work, and would ideally like to live there for 1-2 years at first. I appreciate any input, thanks! PS. i speak french very well. I Look forward to your response!
